Chromebooks are not charging in the cart

If you notice chrome books are not charging in the chrome cart please take the following steps to troubleshoot:

1. Make sure the chrome cart is plugged into the wall outlet, this will effect all chrome books so it should be easy to detect. If the cart is plugged in, make sure the power light is on for the cart. The power light is either green on the left side or orange on the right side depending on the model of cart you have.

2. Make sure the the chrome book charger cable is plugged in all the way. You may not see a charging light on the chrome book for a couple of reasons

  1.     The connector is damaged on the charge cable or on the chrome book. Please inspect for any damage and let us know by submitting a tech ticket.
  2.     The cart is cycling between different levels in the cart. The charging on the chrome carts cycles every few minutes and when the chart is not actively charging on a particular level of the cart you will not always see the charging light. Leave it for 15 minutes and it should eventually start charging if everything is working correctly.
  3.     There is a internal power strip that may have tripped due to a random power spike. If you notice several chrome books not working, for example all of those that are on the left side of the cart, then this may have happened. Please submit a tech ticket and we can troubleshoot this.

3. The chrome book itself may have a bad battery or charging circuit. If the battery dies very quickly or does not charge at all, this may be the reason.
